Comparison Case A more recent case of volar subluxation of the PIP joint has been treated similarly.
Successful Healing
The analgous lesion in the forelimb healed according to the same time schedule applicable to the hind limb.
Biomechanics
Both cases occurred in immature animals. They may represent failure of the suspensory aparratus, related biomechanically to basal sesamoid fractures seen "spontaneously" in this age group.
