AO North America's main focus is to develop and support graduate and
post-graduate education within the following surgical specialties: orthopaedics,
craniomaxilloffacial, spine, and veterinary. AO North America is an accredited CME provider for all specialties that we serve and we are committed to providing
the highest quality education for surgeons at all stages of their development.
We offer a comprehensive spectrum of education activities to support surgeons
who strive to be lifelong learners. Click here for the AO North America CME
Mission Statement.
All AO North America educational initiatives and decisions are directed by
specialty-specific Education Committees. A key responsibility of the Education
Committees is recruitment and selection of course chairmen and surgeon faculty.
Faculty selection is conducted using a peer-review process, with careful
consideration to assuring that AO North America will continue to provide the
highest possible quality of education. Each Committee places a very high
emphasis on maintaining fair and consistent criteria for faculty selection to
ensure that quality is not compromised. Click here for more information about
the AO North America Education Committees.
The AO North America CME Advisory Board (CMEAB) consists of the chairmen of
each of the specialty-specific Education Committees and several ex-officio
members. The CMEAB meets a minimum of two times a year, usually in January
and June. The CMEAB reports directly to the AO North America Executive
Committee. Click here for a description of the
CMEAB.
