AO North America provides an annual research grant contribution to the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) to help support worthwhile musculoskeletal trauma research projects for AO North America members.
For AONA sponsored grants, AONA membership will meet the requirement of the OTA that the principal or co-principal investigator must be an OTA member. AONA members are encouraged to apply to the OTA for support of research in the field of musculoskeletal traumatology. Such applications are due in the OTA offices by
April 1st, for funding beginning January 1 of the following year. Please note that OTA research grants are "seed money" grants (rarely to exceed $20,000) aimed at pilot studies to collect preliminary data for larger grant submissions, such as those offered by the AO Foundation Research Commission.
